Butter isn’t only used for cooking, but this kind of butter isn’t to be digested.  This is something that has been widely popular within the black culture since many of us were children.  We can remember our mothers not only greasing us down with it all over our bodies after we got out of the “tub”, but also used in our hair to help “lock in” some of the moisture and give us that shiny look, that included our faces.  Some people live by the Shea butter as a remedy of dry skin as Tylenol is to a headache.  The scent alone reminds many of us of our childhood and the greasier times of life.  While most still use it today, the commercial fruity smelling popular lotions of today, would have never had the idea if it weren’t for the cocoa butter regime!
